Job Description

Consultant Occupational Physician

At British Airways, we take huge pride in our past – but we’re looking to the future as an airline that loves embracing the best of modern Britain. Our country’s creativity, diversity, style, wit and warmth are the same special qualities that make us who we are.

If you’re made of the same qualities as us, you could soon be part of the next chapter of our story. Together as one team, we’re connecting Britain with the world and the world to Britain like no one else.

BA has over 42,000 dedicated people serving almost 40m passengers each year. Their health, safety and wellbeing is our primary concern and for an experienced Occupational Health professional it could be the most varied role you will ever have. Your expertise will be crucial to us. You will be providing Occupational Health support and, whether it is to the OH team or to the business, you will ensure it is of the highest quality, and supports our mission: To fly, To serve. Your remit will be challenging and wide-ranging.  Diverse Occupational Health services including clinical and rehabilitation consultations; risk management, compliance and clinical governance; plus, management of the OH Business Partners and their teams of OHAs. All this and more will require your expert input. In short, you’ll ensure our people, passengers and policies are always in the best possible health.

We’re looking for an outstanding Occupational Health expert. As a minimum, you’ll need to be GMC registered with a licence to practice in the UK, and be an accredited specialist in Occupational Medicine, on the GMC Specialist Register for Occupational Medicine.  In addition, you will be a CAA accredited authorised medical examiner.

You will have the enthusiasm and ability to meet and anticipate the demands of a large, complex organisation. A commercial mind-set, the ability to work across functions and sharing our total commitment to delivering excellence are also essential.

Our Corporate and Support roles come with big potential to make your mark on our business. The airline industry changes so fast that we’re constantly evolving and finding new ways to impress customers and get ahead of our competitors. If you’re an innovator and brave and bold thinker, you will be in your element at British Airways.

Your impact on British Airways will be rewarded with a competitive rewards package plus the opportunity to develop and progress your career in many directions.
