Global PR Manager
- Careers Site Category:Professional Services and Business Support
- Location:Waterside, British Airways Head Office, London
- Working Pattern:Permanent Full Time
- Closing Date:4 June 2017
Our British Airways PR team develops, implements and evaluates campaigns that deliver positive media coverage, promote commercial initiatives and drive positive brand awareness right around the globe. They also help drive a new business strategy that’s designed to make our operation smarter and ultimately change the way that people fly. Upholding the reputation of a prestigious and high-profile airline calls for a savvy Global PR Manager who can take on this mantle. Could that person be you?
If so, you could soon be providing senior level strategic advice and direction to the business and managing an array of proactive global PR campaigns. We’ll also rely on you to ensure the approach we take is customer and cross market focussed and drives our business goals, positive product attributes/pricing and brand behaviours. Along the way, you’ll manage a range of British Airways business areas as you maximise news opportunities and generate relevant stories to support their activities. And, of course, keeping consumer, news and features’ journalists onside also comes with the job, as does managing specific regions/countries we operate in, together with local PR agency support.
As well as wide-ranging PR experience, you’ll need excellent writing and project management skills and the ability to present work quickly and accurately. Directing high profile news stories using your flair for media relations comes naturally to you, and, ideally, you have a good understanding of the key issues affecting the airline industry and wider news issues. You’ll certainly need to be willing to keep abreast of current thinking and good practice in news generation and global PR trends inside and outside the aviation sector. Throw in your expertise in proactive communications and sound judgement to manage risk and reputational issues and it sounds like you’re the perfect candidate.
As well as a competitive salary, you can look forward to a Total Reward package. Benefits range from competitive pensions and discounted shopping to the opportunity to travel the world as part of Staff Travel.
