Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE)

British Airways

London Gatwick Engineering

Competitive basic salary dependent on experience, complemented by shift premiums

Customers are at the heart of everything we do at British Airways. Our commitment to them is integral to our promise: To Fly. To Serve.

At Gatwick Engineering we are very proud to announce that we have just received approval to deliver our ‘market leading’ business plan! This has opened up opportunities for engineering professionals to join British Airways as Licensed Aircraft Engineers (LAE) to lead teams delivering aircraft inspections, repair, overhaul and modification.

You’ll be instrumental to our ability to provide every customer with an exceptional experience. With pride and passion in what you do, you’ll be devoted to achieving the highest standards of safety, efficiency and operational excellence. Millions of customers around the world will feel the benefit of your expertise. You’ll help them get where they need to go in style and allow our in-flight crew to serve with a smile. With you in our team, we’ll achieve our vision to become the ‘most admired airline’.

With technical expertise that’s second to none, our fleet can give you the variety, challenges and rewards that you’re looking for. Reporting to the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor or Fleet Shift Manager you’ll be the technical team leader for your shift, signing off work and providing expertise and to confidently deliver planned maintenance, but you won’t be fazed by ad-hoc tasks as well. In fact, everything you undertake or delegate will be delivered on time, within budget and to meet all industry standards – the highest of which are your own.

It is essential you have an unrestricted EASA Part-66 Category B1 or B2 Licence and current authorisation for at least one of the following aircraft Boeing 777 or Airbus 319, 320, 321.  The role will require you to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

If you are someone who always rises to the challenge, you belong with us. That’s why we’ll provide you with world-class training, invaluable experience and the rewards and career progression you would expect from a global premium airline.

Read our job description below for more information.

Please note that before you submit your application, you will need to upload a copy of your EASA Licence and type ratings in the 'Supporting File' section. If your licence is not included, we will not be able to consider your application.
